05 more persons die of COVID

JK reports 624 fresh positive cases

Srinagar, Oct 21: Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday recorded five Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,402  in the Union Territory while 624 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 89,582.

Of the total 89,582 cases, 53,698 are from Kashmir and 35,884 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 624 new cases, 384 belong to Kashmir division while as 228 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 53,698 including 47,610 recoveries and 938 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 35,884 including 32,482 recoveries and 464 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 8,088 including 5,150 from Kashmir division and 2938 from Jammu division.

With 655 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 80,092 which is 89.40 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 176 from Srinagar, 29 from Budgam, 63 from Baramulla, 14 from Pulwama,  37 from Kupwara, 21from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 18 from Ganderbal, 16 from Kulgam and 07 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 228 from Jammu division include 112 from Jammu, 14 from Rajouri, 14 from Udhampur, 15 from Doda, 06 from Kuthua, 09 from Poonch, 12 from Samba, 38 from Kishtiwar, 08 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, five persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include four from Kashmir division and one from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one each from Baramulla and Pulwama in Kashmir division while as one death from Jammu division was reported from Jammu district.

As per officials figures, 18,120 positive cases including 337 deaths and 15,994 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,726 including 90 deaths and 5,258 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,348 including 3,895 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,477 including 4,127 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,135 including 71 deaths and 3,718 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,059 including 3,640 recoveries and 71 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,912 cases including 3,591 and 42 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,359 including 3,097 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,425 including 2,272 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,137 including 2,018 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 16,452 including 15,168 recoveries and 240 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,146 including 2,826 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,596 including 2,454 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,542 including 2,344 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Doda, 2,348 including 2,272 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,170 including 1,650 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,098 including 1,682 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,790 including  1,541 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,533 including 1,439 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Ramban and 1,209 including 1,106 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 633,680 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,709 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 8,088 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 554,001 persons have completed surveillance period and 50,480 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,075,701 samples are available.

Out of 2,075,701 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,986,119 while as 89,582 have tested positive, among them 8,088 are active, 80,092 persons have recovered and 1,402 persons have died.
