12 more persons die of COVID in JK

Srinagar, Oct 23 : Jammu and Kashmir Friday recorded 12 Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,424 in the Union Territory while 586 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 90,752.

Of the total 90,752 cases, 54,470 are from Kashmir and 36,282 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 586 new cases, 380 belong to Kashmir division while as 206 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 54,470 including 48,257 recoveries and 952 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 36,282 including 33,229 recoveries and 472 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,842 including 5,261 from Kashmir division and 25, 81 from Jammu division.

With 684 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 81,486 which is 89.78 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 154 from Srinagar, 41 from Budgam, 40 from Baramulla, 20 from Pulwama, 30 from Kupwara, 49 from Anantnag, 12 from Bandipora, 22 from Ganderbal, 11 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 206 from Jammu division include 121 from Jammu, 10 from Rajouri, 12 from Udhampur, 14 from Doda, 08 from Kuthua, 09 from Poonch, 07 from Samba, 12 from Kishtiwar, 08;from Ramban and 05 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, 12 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include eight from Kashmir division and four from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar, Anantnag and Bandipora and one each from Baramulla and Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as four deaths from Jammu division include three from Jammu district and one from Udhampur.

As per officials figures, 18,401 positive cases including 342 deaths and 16,230 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,786 including 91 deaths and 5,345 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,492 including 3,950 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,527 including 4,174 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,205 including 71 deaths and 3,773 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,135 including 3,693 recoveries and 73 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,933 cases including 3,626 and 45 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,408 including 3,136 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,443 including 2,288 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,140 including 2,042 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 16,676 including 15,495 recoveries and 246 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,159 including 2,906 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,620 including 2,469 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,571 including 2,369 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Doda, 2,368 including 2,294 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,184 including 1,803 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,118 including 1,738 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,824 including 1,609 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,544 including 1,440 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Ramban and 1,218 including 1,106 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 639,551 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,395 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,842 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 560,866 persons have completed surveillance period and 5,0024 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,125,790 samples are available.

Out of 2,125,790 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,035,038 while as 90,752 have tested positive, among them 7,842 are active, 81,486 persons have recovered and 1,424 persons have died.
