SAMBA, JULY 01: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda today conducted an extensive tour of Samba town and listened to the grievances of the public.
She visited Samba Fort, Town Hall, Chowhatta Baazar, New Bus Stand and took stock of the problems and public issues.
ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma, ADC Pawan Sharma, Additional SP , XEN PWD , E.O Municipal Committee and other officials accompanied the DDC during the tour.
Locals of the area presented their demands regarding maintenance and beautification of Samba Fort, shifting of Bus Stand, maintenance of road from New Bus Stand to Main Bazaar, sanitation, and maintenance of lane drains at Arazi etc.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that every possible step will be taken to redress the issues. The DC gave on spot directions to Exen PWD to improve road connectivity and maintain the roads; Executive Officer Municipality was directed to improve sanitation in the town. He was also asked to get all drains of the town cleaned to prevent water logging during ensuing monsoon season.
The DC also visited Town Hall, where people raised the issue of construction of an Auditorium, responding to which, the DC asked PWD department to submit a plan in this regard. The people were also assured that beautification of Samba Fort shall be taken up as a planned project.
