SAMBA, JULY 01- District Development Commissioner, Samba, Sheetal Nanda today chaired a meeting of officers to review arrangements for Amaranth Yatra.
The DDC reviewed the preparation of each department for the smooth conduct of yatra. She called for formulating a comprehensive plan for the smooth conduct of yatra and meeting any exigency.
The DDC said that district administration will make all out efforts
for offering best hospitality to the yatris and make provision of other amenities like food, drinking water and lodging.
She directed departments of PHE, PDD to ensure round the clock uninterrupted water and power supply at Langar sites. She directed the
police department to formulate security plan and also directed Traffic police to make traffic arrangements and ensure proper parking of traffic at langar sites to avoid congestion. It was informed in the meeting that a joint police control room will be opened at Chichi mata for the convenience of the pilgrims.
DDC said a Committee comprising of AD CAPD, Designated officer ,Food Safety Samba , TSO concerned headed by AC Legal Metrology shall be constituted for keeping a close vigil on market prices of the eatables and its quality, hygiene and cleanliness, DDC further directed fire service to install fire tender at Chichi Mata temple, health department was directed to keep an ambulance and paramedical staff with all medicare facilities at langar sites, Municipal Committees were directed to maintain sanitation at langar sites, CEO was directed to identify buildings for accommodation of yatries.
It was informed in the meeting that SDM Vijaypur will be Yatra Officer and was directed to check all the facilities at langar sites.
The DDC directed the concerned departments to ensure sufficient accommodation with proper sanitary and other basic facilities. Traffic regulations, management of pilgrims, required infrastructure to manage
the rush of vehicles, security and medical facilities should be given first priority, the DC directed.
ADC Samba Pawan Sharma, ADDC samba Vivek Sharma,SDM Vijaypur, SDM Ghagwal, CPO samba ,officers of police and district administration and representatives of Chichi Mata temple and local representative were present in the meeting.
Later, DDC Samba and other district officers attended the webcasting of the Nationwide launch of Digital India, a flagship programme of the Government of India by Prime Minister Narinder Modi at conference hall here at DC Office Complex.
