Srinagar, Jul 1 : Senior resistance leader and Mahaz-e-Azadi patron Mohammad Azam Inqilabi on Wednesday termed JKLF founder Muhammad Maqbool Butt ‘Protomartyr’ , the political genius, resistance icon and guerrilla strategist of Kashmir.
“Maqbool was an ideal humanist at heart. He propounded the concept of independent Kashmir in 1966 when he darted into Kashmir valley as NLF supremo. His political philosophy was aimed at (1) neutralizing the egotistic political polarization of India and Pakistan on Kashmir front (2) facilitating a peaceful, honourable and durable settlement of Kashmir issue in accordance with the freedom aspirations of Kashmiris (3) guaranteeing peace and tranquility of South Asia,” Inqilabi said.
He added that status quo in Kashmir is no option because it will be tantamount to a deliberate attempt to invite revolt and rebellion in Kashmir where insurgents will assert with innovative and infallible modes of resistance.
Inqilabi maintained that status quo on Kashmir front suits neither India nor Pakistan — the two developing countries worried about the uplift of crores of pauperized and impoverished people of South Asia. “Is it is time to seize the propitious opportunity of congeniality and strategic restraint provided by Pak and Indian strategists; so seek an amicable and peaceful solution of Kashmir imbroglio and tangle. This is what futuristic altruism demands of you,” remarks the MeA patron.(KNS)
