JAMMU, JULY 01-Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Choudhary Sukhnandan, today visited Lakhanpur and Kathua to take stock of arrangements being made for pilgrims of Shri Amarnathji Yatra
The Minister inspected langer arrangements and directed the administration to ensure hygienic edibles and safe drinking water to the pilgrims with proper sanitation around. He directed the concerned department to ensure neat and clean toilets at each Yatri Niwas for convenience of yatries.
The Minister also inspected Yatri Niwas Kathua and took stock of facilities made by the district administration for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra. He went around the Yatri Niwas and was apprised of arrangements made by the concerned departments. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements that have been put in place by the district administration. However, he instructed the officers to put in further efforts and ensure comfortable pilgrimage for the devotees who throng the sacred cave of Lord Shiva from various parts of the country.
The Minister interacted with the pilgrims and enquired about the facilities and also problems being faced by them during the yatra.
