Srinagar, Jul 3 : Sanathan Dharam Sabha of north Kashmir’s Handwara on Friday accused that some locals are encroaching temple land in the region with the municipal authorities taking no action against the violators.
The office bearers of the temple said that some locals in the area are in open encroaching the temple land in Handwara but the district and the municipal authorities are taking no action over the issue. “We several times through both written verbal pleas asked the DC Kupwara to intervene and end the encroachment but there has been no progress over the issue. Also the municipal authorities are allowing such a development in open to take place,” office bearers of the temple told .
However, various Dharam Sahba members including advocate Buhsan Lal, M.K. Kaw, Rajindra Raina, Bansi Lal and others on Friday met the divisional commissioner Kashmir and appraised him about the latest situation. Members said that they are thankful to Div Com for intervening into the matter and seeking action taken report from the district authorities. (KNS)
