Minister of Public Works, Floriculture and Gardens & Parks, Syed Altaf Mohammad Bukhari Friday said a park at SP Higher Secondary School, wrecked by last year’s flood, will be developed by the State Government. The Minister was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Chief Minister’s “Model School Scheme” here. Mr Bukhari inaugurated the Smart Classroom at the school in presence of the Education Minister Naeem Akhtar. Lauding the efforts of the school management in restoring the infrastructure damaged by last year’s flood, Mr Bukhari said the education sector is undergoing a mammoth transformation under the leadership of the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mr Akhtar. “I have been personally involved in the process of restoring the work at the school. In coming days, my department will make more efforts to upgrade the infrastructure of this heritage institution,” Mr Bukhari said. He said the State Government has no dearth of funds but they must be spent wisely, “We don’t want to invest in senseless development. We have to build institutions which will set standards not only in our state but across the country,” he said.
