In a move that would bring people and administration closer and help quick redressal of public issues, Minister for Public Works, Floriculture and Gardens & Parks, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has decided to hold an on spot grievance redressal day, every month, both in Srinagar and Jammu. “During last seven months, I have interacted with large number of individuals and deputations in my Private offices at Srinagar and Jammu, and strongly felt the necessity of a well knit grievance registering and redressal mechanism,” Bukhari said this while stressing need to hold such public meetings regularly so that grievances of the people are addressed without any delay. These monthly meetings will be held at both capital cities from next month, where the Minister along with all head of the departments and field officers shall meet people and address their grievances, on spot. In this regard, first of its kind, on spot grievance redressal day, shall be held on October 12, 2015 (between 10 AM to 5 PM) in Srinagar, while as date for Jammu will be notified separately. The venue of the meetings will be office of Chief Engineer (CE) R&B Srinagar for Kashmir division, and office of the CE (R&B) Jammu for Jammu division. The Minister has also established “Grievance Redressal Cell” which will work simultaneously both in Srinagar and Jammu where people can come with their issues related to the concerned departments. The Grievance Cell shall also have a toll free number, where public can register their grievances and get them addressed.
