Srinagar, Sep 19: The three years old Burhan Bashir Bhat who was injured during an attack by assailants on his father succumbed to his injuries at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science Soura.
Pertinently, unidentified gunmen fired upon a former Jamiat-ul-Mujhadeen militant Bashir Ahmed Bhat alias Sakhi-ul-Zaman when he was proceeding towards his residence at Sagipora Sopore after recharging his cell phone. During the attack Bhat died on spot while his three year old son who was accompanying was hit by a bullet and was shifted to SKIMS Soura where he breathed his last on Saturday morning.
Eyewitnesses told CNS that as the news about the death of Burhan spread in the town, hundreds of people from Wadoora, Yunsoo, Nathipora, Pohru, Panipora, Chogul, Bongam and adjacent areas assembled in Sagipora and participated in his funeral prayers.
The crowd swelled in numbers by the time as nursery class student Burhan was brought to the village in an ambulance. His body was taken in a procession to the ancestral graveyard and he was buried next to his father,” witnesses said.
