Protest broke out in the frontier district of Kupwara after an army vehicle hits two women pedestrians to death. The army vehicle was on way to Chowkibal from Kupwara this morning when it hit and injured three women pedestrians near Panzgam village on the Kupwara-Chowkibal road. Locals moved the injured to the nearby hospital where two – Naza Begum (36) wife of Khazar Mohammad Bhat and 26- year-old Sameena Bano daughter of Mohammad Afzal, residents Panzgam kralpora – were declared dead on arrival, while a minor girl sustained serious injuries. Witnesses said soon after the incident. The protesters hurled stone and fire at the army vehicle to give vent to their anger, they said. However a case have been registered in Kralpora police station vide FIR no 78/2015, US 279, 337 and during investigation 304 A was added, official said. Meanwhile, large contingent of police and Paramilitary troopers have rushed to the spot to contain the protesters.
