Minister for R&B, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that the process of issuance of Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) has been simplified and the service of issuance of PRC has been brought under purview of Public Services Guarantees Act 2011, to ensure time bound issuance of the said certificates to eligible persons. The Minister stated this while replying to a question by Romesh Arora on behalf of Minister for Revenue in the Legislative Council today. The Minister said that Government had appointed a Commission of Inquiry under JK Commission of Inquiry Act 1962 for enquiring into complaints regarding issuance of PRC to non-eligible persons. He added that the Commission was required to submit its report to the Government in the period of 6 months from the date, the Commission enters upon the reference. He said the term of Commission was later extended.
