Expressing serious concern over the growing communal activities of RSS and BJP in the state, the Democratic Freedom Party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah Friday said if they are not controlled on time, the situation may go out of control in the state. In a statement to KNS, Shah who continues to be under house arrest, said that BJP and RSS under a well planned conspiracy are hell bent to divide the state. He made it clear that J&K is a single entity and its disputed status is awaiting the resolution.Taking notice of RSS hooliganism in Reasi, Udhampur and Rajouri, Shah said that to harass anyone in the garb of “cow slaughtering” is intolerable. He said Kashmiris will not remain silent over the reign of terror unleashed upon the Muslims of Jammu and assured them of full support. Shah warned of serious repercussions if any untoward happens with Jammu Muslims and said we cannot make Halal Haram at the behest of communal elements.”Some people sold their honour and dignity for the sake of power,” he said. Expressing strong resentment over the waving of Indian flag at Lal Chowk by some communal elements, Shah said these people are trying to test our patience. Shah said those waving Indian flag must bear in mind that there is no place here for their ideology and that by waving flag Kashmir cannot become part of India.”Waving Indian flag doesn’t change the disputed status of Kashmir. The state has still been a disputed territory since last 68 years. Murli Manohar Joshi to tried to hoist the flag in Kashmir in 1993, in Lal Chowk in the presence of forces, the situation is still the same and the issue of Kashmir still rose to the United Nations,” Shah said. Meanwhile, the party spokesperson has severely condemned the continuous house arrest of Syed Ali Geelani, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and other pro-freedom leaders. He said the so-called head of the state is answerable as to why despite his “battle of ideas”, the resistance leadership is prevented from meeting the people. The spokesperson challenged the administration to compete the pro-freedom camp on a political platform. Giving details of Shabir Ahmad Shah’s detention period, the spokesperson said Shah has been put under house arrest for 125 days in 2015. “He has been prevented from offering 32 Friday and 2 Eid prayers.”He also condemned the police atrocities on the people of Palhallan and said that despite heavy presence of Army in the area, the people have kept their honour high by revering the sacrifices of their martyrs. The spokesperson said that the Freedom Party activists Waheed Ahmad, Naseer Ahmad, Muhammad Shafi (Kupwara) and other from various districts are continuously kept under detention and are not released despite court granting them bail.”The police had adopted a very vicious policy in this regard. They (police) must remember that they can’t break the resolve of youths by subjecting them to such repressive measures,” he added.
