Three army personnel were injured in a grenade attack in Kupwara town on Wednesday afternoon. According to KNS correspondent, the grenade exploded near the compound of the Army’s 41 RR Town Commander and its splinters injured three army men, and damaged six private vehicles, including an army vehicle. Talking to KNS, SP Kupwara Aijaz Ahmad Bhat said that three army men have been injured and they were shifted to a hospital for treatment. The SP said that no civilian was injured in the attack. He said that the grenade attackers have not been identified yet. “Army and police have cordoned off the area for searches to nab the attackers,” he said. Five private cars bearing registration No. JK09A-1749, JK09A-2961, JK09-4947, JK09-4052, and JK01H-7980 were damaged. Meanwhile, Tehreek ul Mujahideen in an emailed statement to KNS and JK Freedom Force’s self-styled spokesman Junaid ul Islam, in a tele-statement, said that they carried out the grenade attacked on the army camp in Kupwara.
