Terming the growing activities of communal elements in the state as a matter of serious concern, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah said the pro-freedom camps “must rise to counter such threat”. In a statement to KNS on Friday, Shabir Ahmad Shah, who continues to be under house arrest, said the growing activities of RSS and other communal forces in state particularly in Jammu and Ladakh are threat to J&K’s integrity. He said in Jammu, the situation has become worse for Muslims due to growing communal activities by fascist parties who want to divide the state and erode it’s disputed status. Terming the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh as a single unit, Shah said all the conspiracies aimed at dividing the state or eroding its disputed nature will be foiled with strict resistance. “They are raking up the issues of Article 370 and 35A just to abrogate them in a very deceitful manner. The resistance camps have to rise to counter such challenge of fascist parties and foil their wicked plans,” he said. Shah said our demand of “right to self-determination” takes in view the aspirations of all the communities of the state and we consider the present deteriorating situation of state as a conspiracy to spread the religious intolerance among people.”We all are seeking the birth right which had been acknowledged by the United Nations and for which several resolutions stand witness in the Security Council of this world body. The right to plebiscite, to choose the political future, is for every citizen of the state,” Shah asserted. The DFP chairman while terming the slogans of so-called democratic government as “hollow” said we are not allowed to meet the people of Jammu and Ladakh. Shah said India’s stand over the issue of Jammu and Kashmir is weak and termed the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s recent 4 point formula as a sincere initiative to prevent the subcontinent from falling to destruction of war.Reiterating his appeal to world leadership to play their for in resolving the Kashmir issue, Shah said Kashmiris are being killed, tortured and subjected to worst kind of human rights violation since last 69 years and world leadership continues to turn blind eye towards them.”If Kashmir issue continues to be kept unresolved, the growing barbarism of Indian forces may open new doors of a holocaust,” Shah added.
