Stressing for collective measures for all law enforcing agencies, the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has asked all ranks of force to brace up in the public service whole heartedly and safeguard the interests of peace loving masses. Rajendra was one his day long visit to North Kashmir areas including Kupwara, Handwara, Sopore and Baramulla. The visit was aimed to take on spot stock of the security scenario in North Kashmir. Besides addressing maiden police durbar at Baramulla, he chaired meeting of Range officers at DPL Baramulla this afternoon to discuss various measures to be taken for ensuring peace and order in the districts. The recent subversive incidents by anti-national elements to hamper the peaceful life of the people also came under discussion during the meeting. During the meeting, Rajendra sought reports from the officers with regard to overall security scenario, law and order, anti-militancy operations and crime status in the range. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Garib Dass apprise the DGP about the measures put in place to keep the Law and order maintained. He said that innovative steps were taken to avert the ill designs of bad elements. He said that the steps have brought good results and a sense of security has been maintained among the minds of people. Rajendra stressed upon the officers who maintain close coordination between different security agencies to ensure Law and order in their respective jurisdictions. He said that restoration to be stepped up by taking joint efforts by all units and ranks to provide better professional service to the people. He said that continuous vigil needs to be maintained on the activities of anti-national elements who are bent upon to hamper the peaceful atmosphere and developmental activities. He reiterated that our fight against terrorism would continue and JKP is committed to safeguard the people and their property. Addressing the Jawans and officers at District Police Lones Baramulla, the DGP asked to work with dedication and provide selfless service to the people. He said that JKP is for the service of the people and we have to ensure of the people and we have to ensure the safety of all sections of the society and provide justice to the needy. He said that people’s cooperation in our fight against social evils of crimes is also imperative which needs to be strengthen by addressing the problems of the people. Rajendra stressed upon the jawans to brace up for tackling the latest challenges of policing, saying that we have to mould ourselves as per the modern requirements of policing. He said that besides crime control and maintenance of law and order, JKP has to meet the challenges of drug edition, which is posting the great threat for our young generations. With a humane face we have to come up to the expectation of the people in other areas of policing, like traffic management and security, he added. Cyber crime is also a big challenge for cops for which we have to make innovative changes in our procedures and strategies, said Rajendra. On the occasion the DGP announces 25 out of turn promotions of different ranks in the Range and handed over the orders to the promotees, whose performance remains outstanding during anti-militancy operations in saving the precious lives of people and their properties. DGP was accompanied by ADGP (Headquarters), S.P. Vaid, IGP Kashmir Zone SJM Gillani, District Superintendents of Police of North Kashmir, Imtiyaz Hussain, Ab. Qayoom, Aijaz Ahmad, Mohammad Shabir and Ghulam Jeelan and other police officers.
