Prime Minister Narender Modi’s visit to J&K should be hailed by all those who have respect for people’s mandate and urge to transform the occasion into an opportunity for the troubled state. Addressing workers at party office PDP General Secretary Nizamudin Bhat said Modi’s strength as popular Indian Leader provides a unique chance to people of the state to use his political potential for positive gains. In a statement to KNS, Bhat said PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has a firm belief that state’s political and economic agenda will get a push as Modi himself sees Jammu and Kashmir as an appropriate place to set an optimistic tone for the sub continent from here. Bhat said Modi’s vision to make India a stable democracy with plural ethos cannot be accomplished without retaining J&K as distinctive part of Indian Federation. It is in this context that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed pins hope for a better deal. Bhat said forces of sabotage and intolerance have no place in pluralistic society and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is playing a historical role in shaping the mindset for sustainable and durable political agenda in the backdrop. Bhat said people will soon realize that Mufti’s own vision fits in the developing political and social discourse at National level and J&K will come out as a beneficiary in this. He said Modi and his government realize that aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir in particular and tolerant and prudent Indians in general can be fulfilled only through inclusive political and cultural course. J&K provides a right epicenter for such a vision, which is tested and proved by crucial phases of history. Bhat hoped that visit will also augur well for youth of the state who have become the worst victims of uncertainty and confrontation. He said once state will be out of the instability and confusion, the youth will get a space to lead. He made an appeal to all to come out of obsessions and motivated propaganda and contribute to reconciliation and trust building. Bhat hoped that people will in a sufficient measure contribute to transform PM’s visit into a new beginning for resolution, reconciliation and stability, which has been craving of all who have suffered in past.
