Government is all set to promote Kashmir’s premier exclusive international conference center SKICC as round-the-year conferencing destination, as the centre remains busy with different events and conferencing activities of national standard on daily basis. “At times we have three to four events in a day and we manage it well professionally,” Director SKICC Yasmeen Khan told KNS. “As the government is keen to promote Jammu and Kashmir as an ideal round-the-year conferencing destination but SKICC remains an exclusive hub for all kinds of MICE tourism activities,” she said, adding, “We have tied up with prominent Mice organisers like Cox and Kings ,Raja Rani and other big travel tour name in the industry. While enjoying the conference experience in SKICC, Carolina judges SKICC as one of the best in the country. Carolina is coordinating the three days national level conference of doctors and she is from Cox and Kings. Carolina said: “We are trying to get more and more such events to SKICC to make it round the year affair.” A conference was today held which was chaired by MP Mehbooba Mufti in which all the legislators from South Kashmir were present. The board meeting of district developmental board Kupwara was also held today which turned SKICC into the hub of activities. “we have almost some or the other event everyday and our focus is to attract corporates because SKICC is an exclusive conference centre, which is ideal all the year venue for MICE activities,” said Shahnawaz Shah, manager marketing SKICC. “With the government focusing on such important segments of tourism it will reap the fruits for other connected sectors like handicraft and adventure segments as well because the conference delegate usually is high spender and indulges in multiple activities which forms a chain that helps different sectors other than the tourism sector,” adds Shahnawaz. SKICC is going to promote its services in all the forthcoming marts and exhibitions in the country to target the corporate sector and other non corporate MICE markets.
