The family of Gowhar Nazir Dar, who was killed last week in Zainkoot in Srinagar outskirts, has questioned the government for asking them to record their statements in District Commissioner’s Office here. Habibullah Gulshan Dar, paternal uncle of Gowhar, told KNS that Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar M.A. Baba called them to come to his office in Srinagar and record their statements about the incidents that led to killing of Gohwar. “We are surprised as to how cant the government conduct the inquiry without finding the facts at the spot. What will the inquiry officer do in Srinagar when the incident happened in Zainakote,” Dar asked. The government had ordered a magisterial enquiry Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar M.A. Baba into Gowhar’s killing. As per family, Gowhar was killed by CRPF in Zainkote, while the later had refuted the accusations. “Atleast, the inquiry officer should first have visited the spot and then asked us to record our statements in his office,” he said. Inquiry Officer, ADC Srinagar MA Baba told KNS that the inquiry into the killing of Gowhar is in full swing and that he was conducting it as per procedure. “As per the procedure, all concerned people are first to share and record their statements before the inquiry officer. I had to record the statements of the family today, but they did not turn up to my office. I have extended the date till 21 Novemberand whosoever concerned wishes to record and share the circumstantial information with us will be appreciated,” Baba told KNS He said that he will go to the spot on Wednesday and in the meanwhile he has asked the CRPF to share with him the roaster of the deployment on the day when the incident happened, SSP Srinagar to share the details and SKIMS authorities to share their report with him.
