Reacting to PDP leadership’s claims that resolution and reconciliation constitute the party’s core agenda, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said the ruling party hasn’t been even able to fulfil one of its promises made with the people during and after elections. “The PDP leadership talks about resolution and reconciliation and claims it will become a bridge between India and Pakistan. These are bigger issues. Has the ruling party been able to get back power projects from the NHPC, which it had claimed in its election manifesto,” Hakim Yasin said in a statement to KNS. “What happened to the promises of revocation of AFSPA, recruitment of unemployed youth and release of political prisoners? People want to know about these issues. When these things couldn’t be done, how can PDP leadership claim they will become bridge between India and Pakistan for reconciliation and resolution of Kashmir issue which is a bigger issue?” he asked. Reminding the PDP leadership of its Common Minimum Programme (CMP), the MLA Khansahib said, “You (PDP leadership) had made several commitments with the people during the elections and included it in your CMP. But none of these promises have been fulfilled yet.” “Today they (PDP leadership) claim they will become bridge between India and Pakistan. But the Prime Minister Narednra Modi during his recent visit snubbed the Chief Minister and said it isn’t on the agenda of the government of India,” the PDF chief added. He also condoled the demise of mother of Justice Mansoor Mir and Justice Yaqoob Mir and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
