Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone Sunday said that the demise of former chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was a great loss to the state. According to KNS correspondent, “Mufti Sahab would treat me as his son. In the past more than nine months he taught me like his son and would advise me as my father would do every small and big issue,” he said. “When I took oath as a minister, Mufti Sahab acknowledged me and asked me to perform better as he mentioned it was something new experience for me,” Lone said. “Whenever Mufti sahab would talk to me I would feel as I was talking to my father. Lone said that despite political differences between his father Abdul Gani Lone and Mufti Sahab, yet they were good friends. “Mufti sahab’s death is an end of an era and end of a statesmanship. He was a visionary leader and a guide whom we lost,” said Lone while expressing his condolences with the bereaved family and praying for late Mufti’s peace to his soul.
