The shopkeeper’s trade Union Langate Sunday held president elections in which Abdul Majeed was elected as President by bagging 140 votes. Two candidates Abdul Majeed and Muhammad Maqbool were in race while 241 shopkeepers were supposed to cast their votes to choose their president. According to KNS correspondent, “Majority of the shopkeeper’s cast their votes in favor of Abdul Majeed while 87 shopkeeper’s cast their votes in favor his opposite candidate. Majeed bagged 53 votes more than his opposite candidate.” He said that the vote casting process started from 01:00pm on Sunday to 02:30pm and the counting started from03:00pm while the results were declared on 04:00pm on the same day. Elections were held in the presence of Tehsildar Langate, Abdul Gani, Naib Tehsildar, Ghulam Nabi and SHO Langate, Mushtaq Ahmad.
