Stating that the two poultry mandi’s will be made operational on 30th of this month, Divisional Commissioner, Asgar Samoon on Thursday said that they will establish mandi’s in every district of the state. Samoon in a meeting with Poultry Farmers Association (PFA) has said that they will establish the poultry mandis in every district of the state and the two mandi’s in Pulwama and Kupwara district will be made operational onJanuary 30 of this year. Samoon directed Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Director, AR War to keep close on the rate of chicken in the market. “Poultry credit cards will be issued to the farmers. The issuance of cards has been taken into the consideration after the poultry farmers express their sufferings before the officials,” source said. They said that the authorities assured farmers that they will try to eradicate their sufferings at earliest. Former Animal husbandry Minister, Sajad Gani Lone has already provided his vision document to the Governor and has already taken several issues with the union government. Meanwhile, Poultry Farmers Association thanked Samoon for taking their matter into serious consideration and said that they hope the authorities will provide benefits to them at earliest. Director CAPD, Additional Commissioner of commercial taxes, Vice president JK Bank, SKIMS representative and Drug controller were also present in the meeting.
