In a bid to highlight the hardships faced by them at different levels in DD Kashir, the Kashmir based TV artists Tuesday conducted a road show here at press enclave. The artists including veteran actor Zameer Ashai, Shabir Hakak, Qazi Faiz, Hassan Javed, Javed Gura, Arif Zeeshan, Jahangeer Farash and several others assembled at Srinagar’s press enclave and held road show, meant to express their hardships due to the apathy of administration. The artists were conducting the event under the banner of Television Professionals United Forum (TPUF). The artists in a road show accused that the authorities at the station continue to take them for ride, turning blind eye towards the agonies they face every day. Zameer Ashai, chairman of the forum said that they administration is leaving the artists on god’s mercy as the government is not paying any heed to the DD Kendra and DD Kashmir. “The government should either close down the offices here or should look into the sufferings of artists,” he said. He said that the government from past several years hardly bothers to look into the sufferings and needs of the artists. “We have approached several in this regard but all has fallen into deaf ears as nothing has been done so far,” Ashai told KNS. The artists had earlier resolved to conduct a road show at Srinagar’s press enclave so that the hardships faced by the Kashmir based TV artists could be highlighted and the inaction of the DD authorities could be unmasked.
