A condolence meeting, under the chairmanship of Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar was held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today to mourn the demise of Gen. (R) K. V. Krishan Rao, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Rich tributes were paid to him and solidarity was expressed with the bereaved family. Rajendra, expressing his grief and sorrow, described late Rao as a visionary Army Chief and leader, who led the State as Governor twice in difficult times. Under his leadership the state witnessed tangible changes to make the administration more effective and efficient, he said. He described him as a good advisor, planner and administrator who would be remembered for years, for his unmatched contribution in steering the state towards the new heights during the peak of militancy. Rajendra, on behalf of J&K Police expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. On the occasion two minutes silence was observed by participants as a mark of respect to late Governor. The condolence meeting was attended by Additional Directors General of Police, SP Vaid, Navin Agerwal, VK Singh and SM Sahai, IsGP, H. K Lohia and SL Sharma, AIG (Personnel) PHQ, Tahir Sajad Bhat and other police officers.
