After suspension of traffic for two consecutive days, traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu national Highway, the only link road that connects Kashmir with rest of the country was Saturday resumed. Traffic was suspended due to the landslides triggered by the snowfall. However, the national highway, connecting Ladakh region with Kashmir and Mughal road, remained closed from December previous year. A traffic police official informed KNS that traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway was resumed after the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) cleared snow on the road. He said about 800 trucks, loaded with essentials and 200 vehicles, carrying passengers which were stranded at several places on the highway, were allowed to move towards Kashmir last evening. “Traffic was allowed from both the sides,” he said.
