The death toll in the Sempora attack on CRPF convoy at Pampore has risen to three, with a civilian succumbing to his bullet injuries in SHMS hospital late evening today. GMC Principal Dr Kaisar told KNS that a civilian, Abdul Gani Mir of Gundipora, Pulwama, has succumbed to his injuries. “He had bullet injuries in his abdomen,” Dr Kaisar told KNS. CRPF spokesman Bhavnesh Kumar told KNS that two CRPF men were killed and 13 have been injured. “Two more of our soldiers got injured during the ongoing encounter, one among them is critical,” Kumar told KNS. He said that rumours about the death of one more CRPF personnel “is false.” Police sources said security forces have tightly cordoned off the whole area around JKEDI headquarters to prevent them from fleeing. Earlier, when the attack took place on Highway, two CRPF men were killed, and 11 injured. The militants stormed in the nearby five-storey EDI building. All the employees were evacuated safely by police using bullet proof vehicles.
