Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) led by its president Abdul Qayoom Wani today called on Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development Department, B B Vyas in his office chambers and projected various demands pertaining to the state government employees. Commissioner/Secretary Finance Department, Naveen Kumar Choudhary, Director Codes Finance Department, Syed Mohammad Altaf Indrabi and Additional Secretary General Administration Department were also present on the occasion. The EJAC office-bearers were assured that the demands raised by them shall be expeditiously. Wani told KNS that the despite gazetted holiday and on the directions of the Governor N N Vohra, the top officials held a meeting which was fruitful and conducive. “We discussed with the officials the issues that we had raised in our charter of demands submitted to the Governor. Issues of regularization of daily wagers, casual labourers revival of public sector units, 6 % DA of the employees,” Wani told KNS. He said that the response of the officials was positive and some issues are likely to be resolved soon. “The Governor is very serious in resolving our issues, and we hope some positive developments will take place very soon,” he said. The union leader said that EJAC General Secretary Farooq Trali, Ganesh Thakur, Dr Manzoor, and Paramjeet were among other trade union leaders who participated in the meeting.
