The district administration is yet to compensate the owners whose land and houses were removed for construction of road under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana scheme in residentsQalamabad village in Kupwara districts. According to KNS correspondent Raja Akbar, the owners said that five years ago their land and house came in the way of in construction of a road in the village, and the government assured to compensate them. “But five years have passed, we have not been compensated. We appeal the administration to pay our money that they owe to us,” the aggrieved residents told KNS. Additional District Commissioner Kupwara told KNS that RS 7.50 crore is pending under PMGSY scheme. “As soon as the funds are released, we will compensate the farmers.
