Srinagar | Mar 22 : People in Bunibagh village of Ganderbal today staged strong protests against the power Development Department (PDD) alleged that the department was not repairing their transformer which had developed a technical snag last week.
The residents of Bonibagh and adjoining localities in Ganderbal area of central Kashmir on Tuesday staged a protest against the alleged failure of the Power Development Department (PDD) to provide them electricity.
The protesters blocked the Srinagar-Sonamarag road to press for their demands.
“We want the old electricity wires replaced as they are harming our lives and properties,” the protesters demand.
They alleged that the department was not repairing their transformer which had developed a technical snag last week.
The protest was called off after a senior official of the PDD assured to look into their grievances. (PTK)
