A day after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) declared Mehbooba Mufti as the chief ministerial candidate, BJP leader and Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on Friday said that there never a breakdown in the coalition with the PDP.
“There has never been a break down in the coalition between the BJP and the PDP. It is just a continuation of the process which started about a year back,” said Singh.
“There were no differences but when you are in coalition then you have to take care of each other’s priority and each other’s preferences and that is what we do in a healthy coalition. And I am sure, this is going to augur well for the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra will also hold separate meetings in Jammu with PDP president Mehbooba and state BJP chief Sat Sharma to seek their formal viewpoints on government formation today.
The state was placed under Governor’s rule on January 8 after the demise of then chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7.
