A truck loaded with a huge quantity of ration was stolen in Jammu and Kashmir’s Old City during the intervening night, a police official told here. He said Mohd Iqbal Bhat reported to the police in Shaheed Gunj that his truck loaded with Food Corporation of India supply– weighing 72.16 quintals– was parked at Zaindar Mohalla during the night. In his complaint, Bhat, the owner and driver of the truck, said the loaded vehicle was stolen by some unknown persons during the intervening night along with relevant documents. Police have registered a case and have started a probe. A police official told Kashmir Dispatch that Bhat was hired by the FCI to ferry the ration delivered through the public distribution system by the consumer affairs and distribution department here.
