Srinagar | Mar 26 : Several women of Maisuma were reportedly injured in police action on Saturday when they were protesting against the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
People from Koker Bazaar locality of Amira Kadal assembled at the Amira Kadal bridge and erected barricades seeking revocation of the controversial food act. After protestors refused to remove the barricades from the road that disrupted the traffic movement, the traffic was diverted via Budshah bridge.
Soon, the protests spread to the nearby Maisuma, where protestors tried to disrupt the vehicular movement. Following which police fired teargas canisters in which several women were reportedly injured. (PTK)
