Jammu| Apr 06 : The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the lathicharge on the students of NIT Srinagar which has left several students severely injured and demanded a time bound judicial enquiry into the incident of lathicharge and to bring out the lapses in handling of the situation.
In a statement issued here, the party convened a meeting to take stock of the situation which has emerged in the NIT Srinagar.
The meeting lashed out the state government for its utter failure and mishandling of the situation especially the brutal use of force against the peaceful students. The meeting expressed serious concern over the prevailing situation and the sense of insecurity amongst the students and parents which has further aggravated due to the uncalled for and unjustified use of force. The meeting presided over by Sham Lal Sharma was attended by Raman Bhalla, G.M. Saroori, Ravinder Sharma, Dr. Manohar Lal, Yogesh Sawhney, Shabir Khan, Vikram Malhotra,, Manjit Singh, Manmohan Singh, Namrata Sharma,, Ch. Shahnawaz, Anil Chopra, Pranav Shagotra (PYC) Neeraj Kundan (NSUI) and Neeraj Gupta.
