Srinagar | Apr 13 : On Tuesday afternoon, when news spread about Handwara killings, a local news agency KNS called its correspondent in Handwara, Zahoor Qadir Bhat, to get the details for the story.
According to KNS, Zahoor picked up the phone and replied that the firing was ongoing in the town and blood had littered at the town square.
“Some persons have been critically injured in the firing. I will go to the hospital to get the details for the story. Call me after 10 minutes,” Zahoor told over phone.
When his office called Zahoor again after 10 minutes, he did not reply back till today as he was mourning the death of his brother.
Nayeem Qadir Bhat, the talented cricketer, was Zahoor’s younger brother, who was among the two youths killed in Handwara on Tuesday when protests erupted in the town against the alleged molestation of a girl by an army man.
