SRINAGAR, APRIL 26: According to the Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, on the directions of the Minister for Health and Medical Education, the Food Safety wing of Drugs and Food Control Organization Srinagar has started a drive against the menace of milk adulteration.
The sleuths of Food and Supply wing of the department laid Naka at various places where from milk enters the city. About 23 samples of milk were lifted during the drive and 25 quintals of milk was destroyed. Also various containers which were rusted were destroyed.
The milk suppliers have been warned to desist from the malpractice of adulteration which otherwise would warrant strict action under Food Safety & Standards Act. Consumers have been asked to file their complaints on phone no : 0194-2495191 and 2490095.
