Baramulla : Students of Noorul- Islam School of north kashmir’s Baramulla town, on Saturday, took to the streets seeking administrative action against the use of polythene, besides creating awareness among the residents about the ill-effects of plastic bags on the environment.

The students held placards and raised slogans like ‘Make plastic an enemy and Paper a good friend’ and “Polythene ko dur hatao, (Avoid plastic and save the earth)’, etc.
The students said that administrative authorities should launch any drive to implement the ban of plastics so that the new beginning of a cleaner environment will mark in the town. They said that the main motive of the rally is to spread message and awareness among the common masses about the hazards of use of polythene bags.
The students marched through different streets and market of Baramulla town and urged to use paper bags instead of polythene bags.
Meanwhile Students while talking with Kashmir Despatch said that Polythene is not only harmful and a source of pollution but detrimental to our economy as well. They added that people should boycott the use of polythene and encourage the use of paper bags for healthier life.
