Baramull, May 16 : A wild bear created havoc by killing live stock at random in Bijhama Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Eyewitnesses told that a ferocious bear entered into the house of one Naseer Ahmed Mir of Bijhama area and tried to attack the inmates. However all the family members managed to escpae from the house after which the bear made its entry into the cowshed where it killed 7 goats. “Shortly after killing the goats, the bear turned its attention towards poultry birds and killed scores of them,” said an eyewitness Muhammad Shafi.
The locals added that the bear was chased down to the village however it managed to escape from the area. “This bear frequently appears in the village and attack both people and animals,” the locals said and appealed Wild Life Department to look into the matter. (CNS)
