Kargil: Cultural Identity of a region echoes the rich tradition as well as history of civilization, and Attire/ Dresses of people is the best way a culture can be described.
To revive and preserve the cultural identity of Purig/Kargil many initiatives has been taken by the Government and government agencies like Cultural Academy, Tourism department etc. but a private institution has come forward to carry this task of reviving the culture as well as traditional value amongst the people and students of Kargil.
Mushi Habib-Ullah_ Mission School Kargil is organizing many events like Ethnic Food Show, Traditional Costume Show etc every year from the inception of the school which has now changed the minds of the people towards adopting the culture, traditional dresses, food etc which is a great achievement and contributions of the school towards the society, this was stated by the Chief guest of the Traditional Costume Show of the School, Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Tsering Angdus.
The Chief Guest appreciated this effort of the school and urged upon the need to adopt this culture in Government Schools which will help in increasing the tourism potential of the district.
During the Costume Show students walked on ramp with their respective traditional dresses which mainly includes of Dresses from Purgi, Balti and Shina Tribe, which has enthralled the environment of the venue.
The main attraction of the event was the costume show by the especially able children of the School which got standing ovation from the Guests as well as Parents.
Talking on this occasion Director of the School Management Committee Gulzar Hussain Munshi told that it’s the objective of the school to instill the value of cultural heritage and its revival through organizing activities related to the tradition and culture together with the overall development of the child and will try to organize these events at district level in future.
On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Kargil Kacho Hassan Khan was the Guest of Honour and Ex MP Ladakh and Councilor Silmo Haji Ghulam Hassan Khan was the Special Guest.
Others present on this occasion includes Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Moses Kunzang, District officers and Parents.
