Srinagar, July 22 (KNS): Government Friday transferred DIG South Kashmir and SSP Anantnag amid ongoing unrest in the valley.
DIG South Kashmir Nitish Kumar has been replaced by DIG Central Kashmir G.H Bhat, and SSP Anantnag Abdul Jabbar has been replaced by SSP Traffic Rural Zubair Ahmad.
Top official sources told KNS that these police chiefs will take charge with immediate effect.
Sources said Nitish Kumar will go for official training and Viplo Kumar has been given additional charge of Central Kashmir range.
Sources said that these changes have been ordered in view of the ongoing unrest that erupted in Anantnag District after killing of Hizb Commander Burhan Wani in Kokernag on July 08.
Sources said that SSP Anantnag has been shifted for mishandling the situation in Anantnag District. (KNS)
