Protesting youth who had blocked the Baramulla-Handawara highway near Chakloo village of Rafiabad, beat a boy ruthlessly upon finding Special Police Officer’s (SPO) form from his bag.
Reports said that Wasim Ahmad Khan from Shutloo Rafiabad was on his way to apply for the SPO’s post at district headquarters Baramulla, when during a ‘checking parade’ youth found copies of SPO form from his bag. Eyewitness said that he was caught by protestors near village Chakloo and beaten ruthlessly while as few of his friends ran away.
“We lost 60 people during last one month and these ‘collaborators’ are seeking government jobs in these harsh times. We don’t want any jobs from our ‘killers’. We will fight till our freedom,” said an angry masked youth.
When the news about the incident spread in the area, people from adjoining villages came in numbers and blocked the highway at many places, shouting pro freedom and anti India slogans. The Shutloo youth was still in the custody of locals when the last reports came in.
