Sopore : A day long programme on Consumer rights was observed at Sanctorum Institute Sopore on wednesday by Legal Metrology Department District Baramulla.
During the seminar speakers including students enlightened participants on consumer oriented topics. Assistant Controller Baramulla highlighted various provisions of the Consumer Protection Act besides stressing on the need to educate consumers about their rights and to strengthen consumer grievance redress mechanism. Chairman of Sanctorum college also highlighted various issues being faced in day to day life by a consumer and the need to increase awareness among consumers.
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Mohammad Ramzan Dar administrative officer of Sanctorum Institute Sopore emphasised the need to strengthening the youth movement for betterment of society. He said that empowerment of consumer is must to sustain a clean and credible consumer market relation.
The Programme was organised by Legal Metrology Department District Baramulla on the eve of National Consumers Rights day in order to make people aware about the consumer rights.
