Youth throws stones to deployed forces in Kashmir's Capital on Friday

Srinagar, July 3: A youth sustained serious bullet wounds after government forces opened fire to quell protesters near the encounter site at Bhamnoo village of Shadimarg in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports and eyewitnesses told GNS that the forces opened fire and used tear smoke shells to chase the protesting youth adjacent to the encounter site.
“In the incident a youth identified as Jehangir Ahmad Wagay s/o Abdul Hameed Wagay received a bullet injury in his abdomen”, they said.
Wagay, a resident of Abhama village was immediately rushed to district hospital Pulwama where from he was referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.
A police officer told GNS that the operation is still in progress to track down the another militant trapped in the village.
Earlier, two militants Kifayat and Jehangir Khanday were killed during the gunfight, the officer said.
Meanwhile, stone pelting clashes were reported from other areas including Pulwama, Billow, Kellar.(GNS)
