Baramulla, 25 August: With a view to ensure adequate arrangements for the smooth celebration of Eid-ul-zuha to be celebrated on 02 September , a meeting of officers was today held at Dak Bunglow Baramulla with Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash in chair. The meeting was attended ADDC Baramulla , ADC Sopore, SDMs, heads of line departments, Tehsildars, police officers, District and Sectoral officers besides representatives of Beopar Mandal, Traders federation and LPG dealers .
On the occasion, the DC was informed that 20 lakh livestocks have been made available in the district for sacrifice as the rate of Rs 185 per kg have been fixed. It was also informed that special livestock mandis have been created at Old Town Baramulla, cement Bridge Near Irrigation department khwajabagh and Kralhar so that the people can get the sacrificial animals without any inconvenience. The meeting was informed that similar mandis have been established at Chankhan sopore near police station. At pattan, the livestock mandi have been established near Tehsil Office besides installing at various other selected places of the district.
It was decided in the meeting that Power Development and PHE departments shall provide uninterrupted power and water supply to the people as per schedule without any curtailment. Various other matters relating health, transport and security arrangements have been thoroughly discussed during the meeting.
During the meeting, the R& B Department was directed to repair the link roads leading to Masjids and Eid-Gahas of the District while as Assistant Director Food supply was directed to facilitate adequate supply of essential commodities viz Rice,Atta,Sugar, LPG etc. Meanwhile it was informed that the department of FCS&CA has sufficient stock of all essentials.
Moreover Executive Officers, Municipalities of Baramulla, Sopore,Uri and Pattan were directed to ensure proper sanitation arrangements in their respective jurisdictions preferably the places of congregations like Jamia Musjids ,Khankhas ,Eid Gahas and other main places as per past practice.
Meanwhile the poultry officer Baramulla informed the meeting that buffer stock of poultry birds are available as well as local producers for the sale centres are being established at all main places of Baramulla town and Tehsil Head quarters.
Impressed upon Food supply department ,Metrology and all concerned Tehsildars to ensure market checking in their respective areas and intensify a drive against erring traders found involved in illegal trade practics ,hoarding and profiteering etc and take appropriate action against the defaulters under law.
