Sopore : To promote local talent especially the youth a cricket tournament was organised by Hathlangoo Cricket Association at Hatlangoo Cricket ground in north kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The tournamnet concluded on Sunday , which saw participation of large number of teams with youth from Zaingeer belt participating with great zeal and enthusiasm.
After closely fought during initial league matches, Magrepora 11 and Habibeya 11 Hathlangoo reached the finals.
The enthusiasm of the people was well evident in the air as the heavy numbers turned up to witness the match and the slogans and celebrations rising for their respective teams.
A tough contest was witnessed between both teams in which Magrepora 11 won the toss and elected to bat first with batting first Magrepora managed 79 runs on board while chasing the target.
While chasing the target Habibeya Champains Hathlangoo loose early wickets which makes the position of opposite team very strong , and while continue pressurelizing chasing team Habibeya Champains Hathlangoo loose the final match by 11 runs.
The event was graced by Irfan Dilawar Bhat Muslim Conference Senior Member and Mushtaq Ahmed Tantry Fruit Mandi Sopore President as a chief guest on the occasion.
Meanwhile at the closing ceremony of the final cricket match guest of the occasion Irfan Dilawar said that its really great to be part of such platforms where youths are busy by showing their hidden talent, and urged the youth to make use of such opportunities to hone their sporting skills and equip themselves to get selected in the state and National teams.
