Baramulla : Patients at District Hospital Baramulla Friday accused doctors and paramedical staff of rude behaviour and unnecessarily harassing the attendants.
They alleged that doctors do not pay attention to even those patients whose condition need serious attention and when attendants try to draw their attention, the hospital paramedical staff often resort to foul language.
Few days ago at District Hospital Baramulla, reportedly a nurse namely Saima Akhter who was on night duty maltreated a local patient, when he brought his baby to the emergency. The nurse on duty allegedly didn’t respond properly and abused the attendant.
The attend said that this is a routine work of paramedical staff here in this hospital as during duty they always have been found chatting on phone while from the other hand patients suffer.
“I was disappointed at the rude behavuour of the nurse. I tried to brought my baby kid to Medical Officer Mrs Shafiya but received same response from her, she not only abused me but also kicked me out of the ICU room,” he said.
With this attitude of paramedical staff the poor patient later was forced to visit nearby private hospital for the advance treatment of his baby kid.
However the matter was later brought into the notice of Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Baramulla Dr Masood but no action had so far been taken against those paramedical staff, the attendants alleged.
Meanwhile Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Baramulla Dr Masood told that we have a proper procedure here in hospital, we have a complaint box here in hospital.
He said that if patients will face any kind of harassment, or any problem they should highlight their grievances through complaint box and after that we will take cognizance.
“Still i will look into the matter and whosoever will be involved in this matter, I will take a strict action against him or her,” Dr. Masood said.
