American comedian Jeremy McLellan on Saturday has shot down Indian attackers on Twitter who mocked his claims on atrocities committed by forces in Kashmir stating that his opinion is ‘paid-off’ by Pakistan.
McLellan has been vocal in lambasting the ongoing violence in Kashmir doubling down on his support for the Kashmiri people’s cause.
He retweeted a post by a student in Kashmir back on April 7 on “Kashmir Solidarity Day” in which the student claimed that the forces locked them inside their school and when they began to chant pro-freedom slogans tear gas was fired at them.
He then tweeted that today is Kashmir Solidarity Day in support of occupied Kashmir against Indian state terrorism.
Students in Srinagar are brutalised for protesting the recent killings. Whether Palestine, Syria, Burma, Kashmir, or anywhere else, people have a right to be free from state tyranny.
When trolls accused him of being on Pakistan’s payroll he hit back by saying Indians: Please stop spreading rumors that I’m paid by Pakistan to tweet about Kashmir. My wife keeps asking where the money is and it’s ruining our marriage.
Jeremy McLellan is an American stand-up comedian. He has been named as one of the “New Faces of Comedy” by Just for Laughs.
McLellan has not only spoken out against India in Kashmir but also the other marginalised groups all over the world as well.
