The launch of a new political party in Jammu and Kashmir is a big political leap after a brief lull in political activities since August 5, 2019. Though, the new political party that will come into effect on Sunday, March 8, 2020 will be an addition to the existing list of political parties in J&K, but with a difference.
Its uniqueness is being defined by lack of political sloganeering and rhetoric. All those who are going to be part of this party are said to have decided not to promise anything to their respective electorates which they can’t deliver.
If all goes well, this political party is likely to gain momentum in its popularity given the fact that people are fed up with the old dissipated political set-ups and want to give a chance to the new viable political alternatives in this region.
Moreover, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are enough mature to judge the political entities on the basis of their performance and public conduct. ‘Jammu Kashmir Apni Party’ as has been decided will come into being on coming Sunday afternoon. All those who are said to be part of this new political party have resolved to work tirelessly for the core agenda of this party which is socio-economic development of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The existing political parties in Jammu and Kashmir have either exploited the political sentiments or naivety to grab the power and fill their own coffers. But times have changed so have the circumstances. The new political party will have to live upto its commitments and ensure that they are not another addition to the already existing futilities.
People of Jammu and Kashmir should give chance to this new political initiative and try to analyse its leadership on the basis of their merit and performance.
