Class 11th Students protest rock in Sopore, damages school property

Sopore, Oct 17 : Yet again scores of class 11th students on Saturday up in arms against JKBOSE demanding mass promotion.

As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, Scores of students assembled outside Girls Higher Secondary Sopore and staged protest demonstration demanding mass promotion.

The angry protesting students termed mass promotion only solution to their sufferings damaged school property as well as injured one of the teacher posted at GHSS.

Eyewitness told this newspaper, the protesting students after damaging the school property then blocked Sopore-Srinagar road at Iqbal market which leading to massive traffic jam in the area.

They raised slogans in favour of mass promotion and said in view of prevailing situation, students suffered a lot and their academic session was adversely affected.

Pertinent to mention here this is third time in this week students of class 11th hit the streets in Sopore, demanding mass promotion.

Meanwhile, Station house officer Sopore when contacted told Kashmir Despatch that police is veryfing the incident, he said if students found involved in damaging the school property strict action will be taken.

Earlier, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Sajad Hussain had assured students that matter will be taken to the higher authorities of Jammu and Kashmir Board.

As reported by Kashmir Despatch that BOSE officials has said that there is no chance of giving mass promotion to students of any class. The government has already announced 30 percent relaxation in syllabus in exams for students of class 10th to 12th.
