COVID claims four more lives, 512 test positive in J&K

Srinagar, Nov 28 : The death toll due to COVID-19 has mounted to 1,680 as four more patients who were tested positive for the virus died in the last 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir while 512 more positive cases were reported on Saturday, thus taking the tally of cases to 1,09,383 in the Union Territory.

Of the exact number of 109,383 cases, 65,435 are from Kashmir and 43,948 from Jammu division. Officials said that among 512 new cases, 212 belong to Kashmir division while as 300 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 65,435 including 61,495 recoveries and 1,099 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 43,948 including 41,096 recoveries and 581 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,112 including 2,841 from Kashmir division and 2,271 from Jammu division.

With 632 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 102,591 which is 93.79 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 97 from Srinagar, 26 from Baramulla, 25 from Budgam, 14 from Pulwama, 16 from Kupwara, 07 from Anantnag, 12 from Bandipora, 14 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 300 from Jammu division include 129 from Jammu, 33 from Rajouri, 31 from Udhampur, 18 from Doda, 23 from Kathua, 01 from Poonch, 20 from Samba, 26 from Kishtwar, 09 from Ramban and 10 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours four persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them two belong to Kashmir division and two to Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Baramulla and Ganderbal in Kashmir division and one each from Jammu and Doda in Jammu division.

As per officials figures, 22,892 positive cases including 416 deaths and 21,268 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,406 including 162 deaths and 6,892 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,853 including 6,4468recoveries and 100 deaths are from Budgam, 5,071 including 4,833 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,178 including 82 deaths and 4,840 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,534 including 4,331 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,395 cases including 4,207 and 50 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,178 including 3,934 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,590 including 2,490 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,339 including 2,232 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 20,474 including 19,524 recoveries and 297 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,446 including 3,273 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,513 including 3,019 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,084 including 2,791 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Doda, 2,771 including 2,635 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Kathua, 2,388 including 2,306 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,450 including 2,239 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Samba, 2,461 including 2,177 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,903 including 1,770 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,458 including 1,362 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 785,192 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 20,950 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,112 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 717,512 persons have completed surveillance period and 39,938 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,969,672 samples are available.

Out of 2,969,672 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,860,289 while as 109,383 have tested positive, among them 5,112 persons are active, 102,591 persons have recovered and 1,680 persons have died—(KNO)
